Understanding Sitemaps
A sitemap is an XML file that lists all pages on your blog. It helps search engines discover and index your content efficiently. Postlyo automatically generates and updates your sitemap.
Your sitemap is available at:
yourblog.com/sitemap.xml
The sitemap includes:
- All published posts with their URLs and last modified dates
- Category pages
- Static pages (home, about, etc.)

Sitemaps are enabled by default. You can verify the setting in Settings → SEO.

SEO Best Practices
Postlyo handles technical SEO. Your job is to create great content. Here's how to maximize results:
📝 Write 500+ words per post
Longer, comprehensive content ranks better. Give Postlyo more to work with for auto-generated descriptions and internal linking.
🎯 Review auto-generated meta
Postlyo generates meta titles and descriptions automatically. Review them— the beginning of your content becomes the default description.
📝 Use headings (H2, H3)
Structure content with headings. They help readers scan and signal content organization to search engines.
🖼️ Add alt text to images
Alt text helps search engines understand images. Describe what's in the image using relevant keywords naturally.
🔗 Mention other posts
Reference topics you've written about. Postlyo auto-links related posts when it finds matching titles or keywords.
📊 Check Search Console monthly
Monitor indexing status, click-through rates, and keyword rankings. Fix any errors Google reports.
