What are Categories?
Categories organize your blog into topics. Each post belongs to one category, making it easy for readers to find related content. Categories also appear in navigation and generate their own archive pages automatically.

Creating Categories
Go to Categories
Click Categories in the sidebar.
Click 'Create Category'
Click the Create Category button in the top right.
Fill in the details
Enter the category name, description, and optional image.
Configure navigation
Toggle whether this category should appear in your site's navigation menu.
Save
Click Save Category to create it.

Name – Required. Displayed on your site and in navigation.
Slug – URL path (e.g., /category/technology). Auto-generated from name, but editable.
Description – Optional. Shown on category archive page and used for SEO.
Image – Optional. Auto-optimized to WebP. Displayed on category page.
Show in Navigation – Toggle to include/exclude from site menu.

Ordering Categories
Drag and drop categories to change their order. The order determines how they appear in your navigation menu (left to right).

Best Practices
📂 Keep it simple
Start with 3-5 main categories. You can always add more as your blog grows. Too many categories can confuse readers.
🏷️ Use clear names
Category names should be immediately understandable. Use common terms your readers would search for.
⚖️ Balance your content
Try to have multiple posts in each category. A category with only 1-2 posts might be better as a tag.
📸 Add category images
A featured image makes category pages more visually appealing and helps with social sharing.
